To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of H. Mitchell Dunn Jr., a partner with HunterMaclean in Savannah, after his passing on Sept. 6.

Admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1958, Mr. Dunn was a tax attorney and practiced primarily in estates and trusts. He also served as general counsel to St. Joseph’s Hospital for many years. A leader among his peers, he was a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the American College of Tax Counsel, past president of the Georgia Academy of Hospital Attorneys and founding trustee and past president of the Southern Federal Tax Institute. He also served his country in the Army prior to entering law school.

Mitchell Dunn Jr. will be missed and fondly remembered by his fellow members of the legal community. We appreciate his dedication and the many contributions he made during his career through his exemplary service to the public and justice system.
