To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I wish to extend congratulations and best wishes to Willis A. DuVall Sr., attorney at law in Edison, who will celebrate his 90th birthday on May 10.
Mr. DuVall was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in September 1950, having graduated from what is now the Walter F. George Law School at Mercer University. He opened his law practice in Edison in 1951. For the past 66 years, he has faithfully served residents of Calhoun County and the surrounding area and is certainly one of the longest standing active members of our State Bar.
One of the many highlights of Mr. DuVall's amazing career was receiving the Justice Robert Benham Lifetime Achievement Award for Community Service in 2007.
All members of Georgia's legal community are grateful for the service rendered by our colleague Willis DuVall and his many contributions toward strengthening the foundations of our justice system, which protects the rights and liberties of all Americans.
We wish him well in the years ahead and hope to join him in many more birthday celebrations.
Patrick T. O'Connor
President, State Bar of Georgia
