To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express congratulations to attorney Robyn A. Crittenden, on her appointment by Gov. Nathan Deal to serve as Georgia’s secretary of state through the end of this year.
Ms. Crittenden, a resident of Tucker, is the first African-American woman to serve as a statewide constitutional officer in Georgia history. During her distinguished career of 28 years as a member of the State Bar of Georgia, her experience includes service as general counsel at Morehouse College, assistant vice chancellor of legal affairs-contracts for the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, as assistant county attorney for DeKalb County, in private practice and, most recently, three years as commissioner of the Georgia Department of Human Resources.
With her acceptance of this appointment, Secretary of State Crittenden demonstrates her continued commitment to serving the public. We wish her well in a new capacity of statewide leadership.
Kenneth B. Hodges III
President, State Bar of Georgia
