To the Editor:

The State Bar of Georgia extends condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime Savannah attorney Fred S. Clark, whose passing March 31 has left us all saddened.

Admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1960, his more than five decades in the practice of law were marked by several capacities of public service, including county attorney of Chatham County, city attorney and Recorders Court judge of Savannah Beach, assistant city attorney and recorder pro tem of both Savannah and Thunderbolt. He served the local legal profession as a past president of the Savannah Bar Association and held numerous leadership positions within his faith community and the community at large.

Fred Clark will be missed and fondly remembered by Georgia’s legal community. We appreciate his longstanding, exemplary service and the many contributions he made to the public and justice system during his admirable career.
