To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of Han C. Choi, managing partner of the Atlanta office of Ballard Spahr LLP, on his recent and very untimely passing.

During his distinguished career of nearly 25 years in the legal profession, Mr. Choi earned a stellar reputation for handling transactions for publicly financed projects in a variety of sectors,

including manufacturing, healthcare, education, transportation and housing. He also served the profession as a valued member of the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia and was past president of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyer Foundation and the Korean American Bar Association of Georgia.

The National Asian Pacific American Bar Association Law Foundation also honored him through establishment of the Han C. Choi Scholarship, as did the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association by creating the Han C. Choi Mentor Award.

Han Choi’s exemplary lifetime of service is an inspiration to all Georgia lawyers. We are appreciative of his many generous contributions to the State Bar and to the cause of justice in our state. He will be missed and remembered.

Sincerely,
Brian D. “Buck” Rogers
President, State Bar of Georgia
