To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I wish to extend condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of Timothy A. Bumann of Madison on his recent and untimely passing.

During his distinguished career of 30 years in the legal profession, Mr. Bumann tried cases and advised international and domestic clients on product liability, regulatory, import/export and security matters. He was a partner in the Atlanta firm of Smith, Gambrell & Russell LLP for the past 11 years and served the public as a Municipal Court judge pro tem for the cities of East Point and Monticello. Additionally, he served as an anti-terrorism officer with the Georgia State Defense Force.

All members of the State Bar of Georgia can be inspired by the lifetime of service of Timothy Bumann. We appreciate his many contributions toward strengthening the foundations of our justice system, which protects the rights and liberties of all Americans.
