To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express congratulations to Judge E. Trenton “Trent” Brown III of Eatonton on his recent appointment by Gov. Nathan Deal to serve as a judge of the Court of Appeals of Georgia.

Judge Brown will be well served on the Court of Appeals by his 19 years of experience in the legal profession, most recently as Superior Court judge in the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit, covering Baldwin, Greene, Hancock, Jasper, Jones, Morgan, Putnam and Wilkinson counties, and previously as judge of the Putnam County State Court.

He has also served on the Court Reform Council appointed by Gov. Deal and is one of three judges who serve on the Judicial Retirement System of Georgia. An Eagle Scout, Judge Brown is also a member of the Putnam-Greene County Rotary Club and is a member of the Leadership Putnam Class of 2002 and Leadership Georgia Class of 2014.

Judge Brown’s acceptance of this appointment is evidence of his continued dedication to public service and upholding the rule of law. His fellow members of the State Bar of Georgia wish him well in this new capacity of judicial leadership.
