To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I wish to extend condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of retired Clayton County State Court Judge Morris E. Braswell on his recent and untimely passing.

During his distinguished career of nearly four decades, Judge Braswell practiced law for 18 years before he was elected as State Court judge in 1996. He served on the bench for 20 years, retiring last year. He was an active community leader, serving on the board of numerous local organizations and as chairman of the Tara District Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America.

All members of the State Bar of Georgia can be inspired by the lifetime of service of Judge Morris Braswell. We appreciate his many contributions toward strengthening the foundations of our justice system, which protects the rights and liberties of all Americans.

Sincerely,
Patrick T. O'Connor

President, State Bar of Georgia
