To the Editor:
The State Bar of Georgia congratulates former U.S. Rep. Robert L. “Bob” Barr Jr. of Smyrna on his appointment by Gov. Brian Kemp to serve on the Georgia Judicial Qualifications Commission.
All Georgians will benefit from Mr. Barr’s service on the commission, which investigates complaints of judicial misconduct on a statewide basis. A member of the State Bar of Georgia for 42 years, Mr. Barr brings a wealth of experience to the post, including service as U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, as president of the Southeastern Legal Foundation and as congressman from Georgia’s 7th District. He has also taught constitutional law at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School and government at Kennesaw State University.
Bob Barr’s acceptance of this appointment demonstrates his ongoing commitment to the public and the justice system. His fellow State Bar of Georgia members wish him well in this new capacity of statewide leadership.
