To the Editor:
On behalf of the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to congratulate the attorneys and staffs of Hull Barrett P.C. and Durham Law Firm P.C., both of Augusta, for their outstanding success during the recently completed sixth annual Georgia Legal Food Frenzy.
The Hull Barrett firm collected 50,976 total pounds of food, the most among medium-sized firms (21-100 employees) in the state. The Durham firm won the statewide competition for small firms, collecting 4,033 pounds per employee and 20,166 total pounds.
The 71,142 total pounds of food raised by the two Augusta firms on behalf of the Golden Harvest Food Bank contributed to the record-breaking total of 1.34 million pounds raised by the legal community across the state.A total of 215 legal organizations, representing more than 14,000 members, participated in this year's Legal Food Frenzy.
Along with Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr, the Georgia YLD is honored to co-sponsor this project to assist the Georgia Food Bank Association and the Food Banks across the state. We have now raised a total of 6.34 million pounds of food in six years.
Thanks again to each attorney and legal professional who joined us for this important cause. We are proud to help lead an effort that has such a significant impact on communities across Georgia.
