Clayton News, Jonesboro
To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to extend condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime Clayton County attorney Steven E. Lister of Lister Holt & Dennis LLC in Jonesboro after his passing at the age of 73.
A Georgia Bar member since 1981, Mr. Lister worked as a police officer and detective for the City of Forest Park and as an investigator for the Clayton County District Attorney’s Office before embarking on his legal career. He devoted much of his career to the practice of criminal law, including indigent defense.
Mr. Lister served the legal profession as a past president of the Clayton County Bar Association and a past vice president of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He also mentored younger lawyers through the mentorship program of the State Bar of Georgia.
Steven Lister will be missed and fondly remembered by his fellow members of Georgia’s legal community. We appreciate his dedication and the many contributions he made through his service to the public and the justice system.
Sincerely,
J. Antonio “Tony” DelCampo
President, State Bar of Georgia
