To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express congratulations and thanks to members of the Cobb Bar Association who spearheaded the recent observance of Law Day 2022.

Congratulations also go to Kim K. Frye, who received the Criminal Defense Section Jimmy Berry Champion of Justice Award; Chase Elleby, who received the Ross Adams Younger Lawyer Award; Judge Toby Prodgers, who received the Liberty Bell Award; Kate Gaffney, who received the Thomas J. Charron Public Service Award; former Marietta Police Chief Dan Flynn, who received the Public Safety Officer of the Year Award; Darcy Kamau, who received the Babe Atkins-Byrne Excellence in Legal Administration Award; Judge Jane Manning, who received the Cobb County Trial Lawyers Judge A. Harris Adams Justice Award; Raina Nadler, who received the Cobb Justice Foundation Richard L. Moore Volunteer Award; and Dawn Levine, who received the Bobby Cleveland Award.

The national theme for this year’s celebration of Law Day, “Toward a More Perfect Union: the Constitution in Times of Change,” acknowledges the Constitution as a dynamic document, as it not only outlines a blueprint for government, but also delegates power, articulates rights and offers mechanisms for change.

We commend 2021-22 President M. Chase Swanson, 2022-23 President Soo Hong and all members of the Cobb Bar Association for a most successful observance of Law Day, which helps make the public aware of the importance and value of our justice system.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth L. Fite
President, State Bar of Georgia
