To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime Covington attorney W. Kent Campbell after his passing at the age of 81.

A member of the Georgia Bar since 1969, Mr. Phillips practiced law in his hometown for his entire career. He served as counsel to the Newton County School System for 45 years and was a past member of the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia. He also served his country in the Navy prior to entering law school.

Kent Campbell’s long and exemplary career is an inspiration to all members of the legal community. We are appreciative of his many generous contributions to the cause of justice in our state. He will be missed and fondly remembered.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth L. Fite
President, State Bar of Georgia
