To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of Lilburn resident and longtime former Rockdale County Juvenile Court Judge William W. Lavigno III after his passing at the age of 74.

A member of the Georgia Bar since 1972, Judge Lavigno was actively engaged in the practice of criminal defense, child custody litigation and personal injury law and served as Juvenile Court judge for Rockdale County from 1979 through 1996. He also served his profession and community in numerous capacities.

Judge William Lavigno’s long and exemplary career is an inspiration to all members of the legal community. We are appreciative of his many generous contributions to the cause of justice in our state. He will be missed and fondly remembered.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth L. Fite
President, State Bar of Georgia
