Dawson County News, Dawsonville

To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime Georgia attorney W. Newton Moore of Dawsonville after his passing at the age of 75.

A member of the Georgia Bar since 1975, Mr. Moore began his legal career as the first in-house general counsel for Mercer University. He practiced law for 47 years in Atlanta and, later, Gainesville and also served his country as a decorated Marine veteran of the Vietnam War.

Newton Moore’s exemplary lifetime of service is an inspiration to all members of the legal community. We are appreciative of his many generous contributions to the cause of justice in our state. He will be missed and fondly remembered.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth L. Fite
President, State Bar of Georgia
