Team Registration Info

We are glad that you would like to register your team for the 2020 Georgia High School Mock Trial Competition. Before proceeding, please understand the information below, registration deadlines and that all registration fees for the primary team are non-refundable. To register your team, go to the appropriate section below:

Registering a New Team

We are excited to have your school join the competition! To start a new team, the team will need the following:

  • Between six and twelve students
  • At least one teacher coach
  • At least one attorney coach

New teams should register using the New Team Registration Form. After completing in Adobe Acrobat or Reader, print it off and send it, with the $125 registration fee, to the Mock Trial office using the address on the form. (If paying by credit card, it can be faxed in to save time and postage.)

Payment may be made by check/money order (made to the State Bar of Georgia) or credit card. It may be paid by the school, a law firm, or an individual. If an invoice is needed, contact the Mock Trial office.

Since it is after the due date of Oct. 7, registrations will incur a $100 late fee and will not be accepted after Nov. 1.

Registering an Established Team

Teams that registered for the 2019 season were sent a registration packet that included the 2020 Team Registration form. This form should be used to register the team and not a New Team Registration Form above. If the registration packet has been misplaced, please contact the Mock Trial office.

Corrections should be made on the registration form directly, updating information as needed. Please make sure to contact attorney coaches listed on the form to confirm their intentions for the 2020 season.

The Registration Form and Fee should be sent together to the Mock Trial office. If paying by credit card, fax both forms to the Mock Trial office.

Since it is after the due date of Oct. 7, registrations will incur a $100 late fee and will not be accepted after Nov. 1.

Registering an Additional Team

Starting with the 2020 season, schools may register more than one team in the competitoin. Multiple teams from a school will compete as independent separate teams and advance individually. Each additional team will register separately and incur a separate registration fee of $75 for the 2nd team and $100 for 3rd and above teams.

Additional teams should register using this form. Additional team registrations and their registration fees are due to be received by the Mock Trial office by Friday, December 13. No additional team registrations will be accepted after December 13. If paying by credit card, fax both forms to the Mock Trial office.

If an additional team(s) need to be withdrawn from the competition, contact the Mock Trial office as soon as possible. Withdrawals completed by January 15 may receive a 50% refund of the additional team's registration fee. Any withdrawals after January 15 will not be eligible for a refund.

Each team from a school must have unique names. Use colors to differentiate the teams, not A/B, 1/2, Senior/Junior, Varsity/JV, etc. After submitting the form for the additional team(s), email the Mock Trial office with the updated team name for the primary team.

Additional teams may be coached by the same coaches for the other teams from a school. If the additional team(s) will have a dedicated teacher and/or attorney coach staff, contact the Mock Trial office and detail which coaches will be responsible for which teams. The school should use the Supplemental Attorney Coach form to add attorney coaches as needed.

All communication for all teams from a school will be done through the primary teacher coach listed for the primary team from the school. It will be the primary teacher coach's responsibility to disseminate information to the rest of the coaching staff.
