Tumbling in the Moving Privacy/Infosec Regulatory Maze

Tumbling in the Moving Privacy/Infosec Regulatory Maze
Presenters: Jon Neiditz and Amanda Witt, partners in the Information Security and Data Privacy practices with the Atlanta office of Kilpatrick Townsend

The tectonic plates are moving under the maze of privacy and infosec regulatory requirements, and this movement risks tripping up "innocents" along some pathways as the shifts also open up new pathways that others must follow. This presentation will explore:

  • How to make sense of the maze of such regulations
  • How cybersecurity is supplanting information security, and what it means to your company (or clients)
  • How the FTC's ex post "unfairness" regulation will upend your company's (your client's) regulatory compliance efforts
  • How Europe and the United States are being thrown together and ripped apart by these forces
