State Bar of Georgia

The State Bar of Georgia Executive Committee and senior Bar leadership have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and the potential risks that in-person gatherings may pose to our members and staff. Recently, we have started to evaluate our return to the office and meeting planning options, with an optimistic view of better days ahead. To ensure the health and safety of all concerned, we will continue to hold most major events and programs virtually through the spring. We hear you and know many look forward to the in-person activities and events we all love.

With the onset of warmer temperatures and the increased availability of the vaccine to all individuals, we have plans for various, smaller in-person events as the summer approaches. On top of that, we are pleased that the 2021 Annual Meeting, scheduled for June 10-13, will be our first official in-person meeting, offered in a hybrid format. From there, we hope to gradually increase face-to-face interactions, beginning with opening up our Bar offices in Atlanta, Savannah and Tifton to staff on or around July 1. While we are excited to look ahead to bringing back in-person events and programs, we know that the situation is fluid and may require additional adjustments as we work toward a full return. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and all plans are subject to revision on a daily basis. Continue to be safe and well and we look forward to a time when we can all be together again.

State Bar Building Access Temporarily Restricted

Although our physical offices remain closed, all of our staff are working remotely and are available to help. Additionally, the State Bar Parking Deck is open and available for member use only.

ICLE Update

The Institute of Continuing Legal Education of the State Bar of Georgia has resumed livestream programming. Please know that Bar members will continue to be able to fulfill their CLE requirements online as outlined in the Supreme Court of Georgia’s order dated Dec. 3, 2020.

In addition to livestream programming, ICLE maintains a library of webcasts with new content uploaded periodically for members to fulfill CLE requirements virtually through on-demand webcasts. Please find a list of available webcasts here.

We will continue to reevaluate and reassess the health situation as it evolves and provide future updates regarding new programming. The State Bar appreciates the volunteer efforts of all chairs and speakers, and asks for your continued patience and understanding as we work through our current reality. Protecting the health and safety of our speakers, staff and members continues to be our paramount concern.
