YLD/HSMT Committee Leadership and Structure

Special Projects Task Force oversees the Law Academy and Court Artist Contest. Task force meets on an as-needed basis, with the majority of the meetings in the fall. Members may select the area(s) of interest in which they want to work.
State Finals Planning Board organizes and operates the state final rounds; meets as needed from November to March. Members should reserve the 2nd weekend in March each year to be present in Lawrenceville for the tournament.
Subcommittee on Competitions is made up of Regional Coordinators and their local coordinating team members and is responsible for coordinating the competition in regions throughout Georgia; active locally from November to March.
Subcommittee on Development oversees the budget and seeks financial support for the program; meets as needed and oversees annual fund drive.
Subcommittee on Honors and Awards supervises teacher/attorney/
organization honor recognitions in all regions throughout the state; meets as needed in the spring.
Subcommittee on the Problem writes the case for each year (criminal in even years; civil in odd); most meetings held in late summer and early fall. Membership not available to current team coaches.
Subcommittee on the Rules evaluates and revises competition rules; answers questions and settles disputes as required; most meetings held in the early fall.
Subcommittee on the Teams is made up of team coaches (attorneys and teachers). The coaching season is concentrated from December to March. Does not meet as a whole.
