To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I am writing to congratulate Cobb County Superior Court Judge Dorothy Robinson on her upcoming retirement and thank her for her 40 years of service to the justice system.
Appointed as a State Court judge in 1972, Judge Robinson was the first female appointed to serve as a judge of a court of record and in 1980 became the first woman elected as a Superior Court Judge in the Cobb Judicial Circuit. She further served the legal profession as president of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers.
Judge Robinson is well known in the legal community for her commitment to fairness in the courtroom, her wit and wisdom, her courage and pioneering spirit. She is well deserving of the honor of having her portrait placed in the Cobb County Courthouse.
All Georgia lawyers and judges can be inspired by Judge Robinson’s lifetime of service and career-long efforts to promote the cause of justice, uphold the rule of law and protect the rights of all citizens. We wish her well in her years of retirement ahead.
