Members of the Family Law Committee of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia are hosting the ninth Annual “Supreme Cork” wine tasting and silent auction. This year’s Supreme Cork fundraiser will benefit the Guardian ad Litem Program and the Safe Families Office of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF).

For this year’s Supreme Cork, we have a fundraising goal of $25,000 and we are hoping for attendance of 200 people. Attendees will include greater Atlanta area family law attorneys, in addition to various other legal professionals and associates, but all are welcome to attend regardless of professional affiliation. We encourage you or your firm to participate in the Supreme Cork by attending the event and/or being a sponsor. Please contact Jamie Perez at Holland Roddenbery, LLC, at jamie@hollandroddenbery.com for sponsorship information.

2015 Family Law Institute, May 21 - 23, Amelia Island, Fla.

We hope you will be able to attend the 2015 Family Law Institute at The Omni, Amelia Island, Florida. This year’s Institute will be chaired by Regina Quick and will be another great learning and social experience for everyone. The program will cover a range of the most current and hottest family law topics.

Continuing what has become a tradition, the section plans to invite a number of Georgia judges. We expect a great turnout. With so many jurists attending, there again will be a great opportunity for you to discuss policies and procedures impacting on this important practice area. The ICLE brochure will be sent out around the beginning of February 2015.

The Institute will take place from May 21 - 23, 2015. We have set aside a block of reduced-price rooms at The Omni. The per-night base rate for an Ocean View Room is $249, plus fees. As is our Family Law Institute tradition, we will have receptions on Thursday and Friday - likely with our now-famous “Specific Deviations” band at Friday's reception, a tennis tournament on Thursday and a golf tournament on Friday.
