Membership Senior Administrator


Position Reports to Director of Membership

Classification:
Non Exempt

Responsibilities:
Provides administrative support on more complex issues to the 44,000 members of the State Bar of Georgia. Serves as one of the primary individuals responsible for dues payments, refunds, returned checks, etc.

Requirements:
Four year degree in Business or related field or comparable experience; 7 years experience in more complex administrative functions; excellent customer services skills,  intermediate to advanced computer skills in Word/ Excel and basic knowledge of accounting functions. Some banking knowledge helpful.

Specific Duties:

  • Serves as Team Leader for other Administrators or part time employees. Assists other State of Bar Georgia employees to resolve difficult issues.
  • Under the direction of the Director, responsible for Lockbox Payment Process. Downloads electronic files and balances batches from the bank site. Keys and balances non electronic batches.
  • Researches and documents payment problems. Processes correction batches to ensure funds are credited to the appropriate general ledger accounts.
  • Handles refunds that result from various payment types, i.e., cash, check, and credit cards.
  • Processes desktop credit card payments in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Reviews bank documents and resolves issues related to credit card payments that are rejected from the bank for various reasons, i.e., invalid card, etc.
  • Processes daily requests for letters of good standing. Interfaces with OGC to resolve issues related to public discipline.
  • Develops professional Membership forms in formats suitable for the website or providing to members.
  • Responsible for responding to attorney inquires by phone and by email. Resolves issues of high complexity related to dues and Bar policies.
  • Completes necessary activities to produce Photo Ids in a reasonable timeframe.
  • Interfaces with the Continuing Education Department and other major departments to resolve payment and procedure questions.
  • Supports Director and Assistant Director in any assigned responsibilities.
